Indication of recording

Feature Request

Some panel with count up of minutes and seconds during recording would really make a difference. Or at least that red dot in the tray could be blinking when recording; and if recording paused or stopped, the red dot would change look to grey or something, or covered with common “pause” symbol ⏸️

This needs research before an implementation because if there’s a widget containing a visible recording indicator and minutes/seconds counter it will be included in the screen recording itself.

Regarding the tray icon some systems (like Fedora/GNOME) have no system tray at all - or at least it’s not possible to add icons to it.

Perhaps a few different options could be made available/customisable to the user.
